O'Hare or Midway?

I'll uncross my heart and hope to live if you'll promise to crash upon my shore like you mean it. A thousand days misplaced beneath the waves, there is a ship that sunk with you in mind. Nameless.

A moth lives for only one day, yet it never wavers... as if the ground was never an option. Promise to always be that way. The way that flowers never weep upon the arrival of winter. The moon towards the dawn. Me and you.

I'm All In

Still feeling like I've been out to orbit... and the metaphor remains. Burning through the atmosphere.

Timelines and bloodlines. I just want you in both. I want to heat up the way you make me feel, bottle the condensation off of the windows, and shoot it in my 3am veins. I need you in pill form. We're passed the point of daily.  The hours behind these lights won't let me forget you. Lake Michigan is so cold.

Can't wait to sit up talking all night again like the first time. Both coasts can wait, or be put on hold for you. Hurry home. :)

Just Honored To Be Your Inside Joke

Every night is spent fighting eyelids. Dear Lord, please don't let me repeat that same old dream. The one where I'm trying to save a life that saved mine... that's already passed away. I'm so tired of kicking in my sleep, screaming myself awake.

Giving hell to alarm clocks. My Juliet has cat eyes, and I'm restless without her stare. Sleeping pills to make me feel alive, to pass the time. Counting down towards her return.

Malort

Out to orbit... trying to return, but I know the trip back through the atmosphere is more than enough to burn. I'd say your name if I believed it mattered. Write us out of this. Find me, if for no other reason than the inspiration that follows. You put the pen back in my hand. Forever grateful, and dying to share. Jealous of the way you have with the words I feel.

Nomadic Head

The thing that they'll never tell you about "the other fish in the sea," is that there is a catch limit. You can only fish for a sign of life for so long until the motor gives out. Sooner or later your body becomes just another stranded vessel at 'see.'  These words without her eyes are useless. The same goes for this thing inside my chest.

Who am I kidding? I barely knew my muse. Here's to hoping she'll pull me close on a corner somewhere and remind me that we're all still living in an era that will allow us to beat this.

HeirWaves

I've got a closet full of smiles that I've been trying on. Tore up the floorboards just to retrieve the hope I buried a few years back. Ripped out the thorn in my side, and was amazed to see the ideas flow.

Once again. All of the tiny bright stars are just holes from the people in heaven, peering through, wanting to see what it's like once they're gone.

The best led lives read like a classified ad. Put my heart on sale just to see what would happen... and now I'm back.

Smile one more time for the camera, and the calm before the storm.

The Armored Heart Heist of 2011

I watch the fog roll in from Lake Michigan. Spilling down the river. Engulfing my skyline. It's the way my head feels for this past year. I'm blurred. If she's has me, it's probably all wrong... but you're missing the point. At least she got me.

Let's explore extending hearts from the arches of our feet, to the arches of our backs pressed against window panes, as we sing songs in the key of lust. Crushing lungs buried under blankets meant to keep you warm, and away from that door.

If you take the time to look at peace long enough, you will find war. The same goes for my chest. This past year has been about my own shadow grabbing me by the feet, only to grow taller than us. I'm here to rebuild the engine in your chest, and to help you blink away the tears.

Home feels like the look in her eyes. Away is just these paper mache lungs, struggling to breathe inspiration. These paragraphs are only silhouettes in her peripheral.
